A sandwich could be the perfect food. You can customize it however you like, you can hold it in your hand, and you can make it as healthy--or as decadent--as you can dream. We have some great sandwich places here in Garrettsville, OH, and we'd love to recommend a few places to you. more Miller's Family Restaurant This special place at 8045 State St is a community staple for delicious, homecooked food and a friendly, small-town atmosphere. You'll find them open from 7AM until 8PM every day but Monday. Be aware that they open a little later, at 8AM, on Sundays. They offer a variety of delicious food and plenty of choices for the kids, but some of the things we like best here are the sandwiches. Let's start with breakfast sandwiches. They offer a choice of bacon, sausage, ham, egg and cheese, or steak. You can get one of these delicious sandwiches on a muffin, a croissant, a bagel, or even a fabulous pretzel roll. For lunch, they have a wonderful grilled cheese sandwich that is priced perfectly and will remind you of the grilled cheese your grandma made for you. They also do a stellar BLT, a great fish fillet sandwich, and either grilled or breaded chicken sandwiches. If you prefer, you can get a melt on grilled rye bread: these come in ham and cheese, bacon and cheese, or beef patty and cheese. Slim & Jumbo's At 8101 Main Street, you'll find Slim & Jumbos. From Tuesday until Friday, they are open from 3 PM until 2:30 AM. On Saturday, they are open from 11 AM until 2:30 AM. On Sunday, get there between noon and 9 PM to get your sandwich. (On Monday, they're closed). The spot has a great neighborhood sports bar field, wonderful service, and some excellent specials you'll want to check out every week. You can get any of their sandwiches with chips or fries or served as a platter. Our favorites include the pub parm, which is crispy chicken topped with mozzarella sticks and marinara on a grilled hoagie, and their fabulous Ruben. The turkey melt is also amazing. It's turkey, bacon, and American cheese with tomato and mayo, all on grilled Italian bread. They also do a great Philly cheesesteak, a beef au jus, and a fabulous shrimp po' boy. They also do great wraps. Garrett's Mill & Brewing Company This is a wonderful place for craft brews as well as sandwiches, and if you enjoy some of the brews they're cooking up, please do so responsibly and in moderation. You'll find them at 8148 Main St., and they are open from noon until 8 PM Tuesday through Thursday, until 9 PM on Friday and Saturday, until 7 PM on Sundays. They are closed on Mondays. All their sandwiches come with french fries or their special house chips, which we highly recommend. Their Ruben is particularly good here, and if you are a vegetarian, you will appreciate their mushroom wrap. The beer-battered chicken sandwich is also outstanding. All these places are great, so when your Chevrolet Silverado has finished working for the day, have it take you to one of these spots for a well-deserved sandwich and a healthy helping of fries.
