Spend Arbor Day at Holden Arboretum Celebrate trees at one of the latest botanical gardens in the United States: the Holden Arboretum. Covering 3,500 acres in the neighboring town of Kirtland, the Holden Arboretum offers free admission on Arbor Day and gives every guest a tree seedling (while supplies last). Enter "9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland, OH 44094" into the GPS of your Chevy Traverse to get to Holden Arboretum. Birdwatching at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area The Magee Marsh Wildlife Area is a 2,200-acre nature preserve on Lake Erie. Birdwatching enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers from across the region visit "the Warbler Capital of the World" for the spring migration season. Thousands of migratory birds stop and rest at Magee Marsh before continuing their journey north. Located at OH-2 in Oak Harbor, the Magee Marsh is managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Over 300 species of birds have been recorded over the years, including bald eagles, owls, osprey, hawks, and songbirds.
